Spokesperson for Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akufo Dampare legal team Kofi Bentil has indicated to the media that, they are inclined to also work hard to ensure that the committee set up by parliament to probe IGP’s leaked audio will not lose its way.
Speaking to Joy news desk monitored by @Ahotoronline.com, the legal practitioner said the speaker of parliament set up a committee with a clear remit therefore, the Committee must be helped to achieve its mandate.
According to him, they have cooperated with the committee and will continue to do so with the help of their client, the IGP.
His comment comes as the IGP appears before the Adhoc committee of parliament today (October 10, 2023) to continue with the probe.
Mr. Bentil indicated that, so far it is clear that, all manner of invitations has been sent to all manner of persons to speak on the issues which is not the right way to go.
He said that is why they’re there to assist in all the process of the committee to achieve their goal and to that extent, they have to limit it to the remit of what the speaker asked them to do.
