An Economist, Isaac Yalley has said, he can’t see the reality in the ‘turn the corner’ comment made by Ken Ofori Atta yesterday in parliament with regards to the country’s economy.
According to him, current happenings in the life of the ordinary Ghanaian does not depict an economy that has turned around as touted by the Minister in charge of finance.
The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, yesterday spoke eloquently about the bright outlook of Ghana’s economy towards the second half of the year as he presented the 2023 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament.
In an interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Adekye Mu Nsem aired on Ahotor Fm, Mr Yalley reiterated, “only the minister can explain what he means by the ‘turned the corner’ because we all go to the market and we are not seeing any reflection”.
“He should explain to us what the game changer is” he added
Meanwhile, the Minority leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has stressed that the economy had “turned the corner” could not be true and that the government had rather deepened the woes of ordinary Ghanaians.
