Afiriyie Barnie has lost focus on the game – Charles Taylor
Former Black Stars player Charles Kwaku Asampong Taylor has expressed his displeasure on the current U-23 captain Daniel Afiriyie Barnie for poor performance.
In an interview on another platform, Charles Taylor emphasized that the U-23 captain has lost focus on the game which has negatively affected his performance in the club and national team.
“I have said this countless times that as a player, you have to sometimes discipline yourself else over-confidence will help you to lose focus because if you have not gotten something before and you eventually get it, you think differently and behave otherwise. That’s what’s happened to Afiriyie Barnie, he lost the time that he was to struggle and be more focused is overdue.”
He further appealed to the management of the player to advise him before its too late.
On 3 January 2023, Afriyie officially joined Swiss side Zurich for an undisclosed fee, signing a contract until June 2026 with the club.
Daniel Afiriyie Barnie played for 45mins in the 3:2 victory against Congo in the
Ongoing Afcon-23 tournament in Morocco.
