Former Ghana’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), H.E Emmanuel Victor Smith has cautioned the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the Assin North by-election in the central region saying, if they try to do what they have done before, they will be sorry.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s show dubbed Adekye Mu Nsem hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu, he used Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election and others as an example that, should such have happened again, the NPP will not like the outcome.
According to him, the governing party should not forget that, the opposition party also has men in the security agencies hence using such to intimidate voters will not work.
“If they deploy the vigilantes, I am saying to them nobody in the Ghana Armed Forces now, and the professionals will not obey any unlawful order to go and shoot innocent people”, he said.
He said they will take any vigilantes that will be dressed in military uniform to come and misbehave down.
