Ghanaian famous gospel musician, Joe Mettle made a statement that as an upcoming musician, you have to know what exactly you want to do at the just-ended VGMA Musical Summit yesterday.
According to him, as an upcoming artiste, you should have in mind the genre of music you want to do and also examine or do a background check and see if you can make it with that.
He said; ”you have to know what exactly you want to do as a musician, and not because everyone is doing it so know yourself and how you can go about it properly’’.
The VGMA artiste of the year 2017, added that some of the upcoming musicians, what to do things like the- list artists, in terms of living their lives, they want to live expensive life, but you just started, so they can’t be like the big guys.
‘’ Is not done that way, you start from somewhere, learn and serve before, but our generation today doesn’t know how to serve and even create a good relationship with the leaders, those who started before them.
He made the statement yesterday at VGMA Musical Summit at La Palm Beach Hotel to mark the year’s World Music Day which Joe was part of the speakers, a program monitored by Obaapa Janee
Joe won the artiste of the year, 2017 at the 18th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, and indeed history was made.
For the first time, in history that a gospel musician won the topmost award at the VGMAs.
