Former National Chairman of NDC Hon. SAMUEL OFOSU AMPOFO has been recognised and awarded for his meritorious and and unalloyed contributions towards the formation of the NDC Professional Forum since it inception.
At the 5th Anniversary celebration held at East Legon in Accra on 5th March 2023. The program witnessed many stalwarts and sympathizers in the NDC including other diplomats as well as Former President John Mahama who was the special guest of honor for the occasion.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama presented the award to Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as he extolled the virtues of the former National Chairman for the main opposition NDC as a loyal person.
In a brief remarks Former President John Mahama stated that Hon Samuel Ofosu Ampofo have exhibited and exhume examplenary leadership in the party which is worth emulating. Mr. Mahama use the occasion to thank Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and the role he played during the 2020 General Elections when they both had good and close working relationship.
He reminisced moments in the campaign tour when Mr. Ofosu Ampofo showed extreme character and commitment with main of objective to see the NDC in power. He explain to the gathering that, Hon Samuel Ofosu Ampofo’s contributions in the party first as a DCE at Fanteakwa South in the eastern region. He said these observations are unmatched and enviable.
The Former President reechoed the spirited support and commitment by Mr. Ofosu Ampofo during his tenure as the local government minister and the broad knowledge he have in the local governance structure of the country. He added that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo is a collosus in decentralisation as well and rural developments programmes. Many rural and peri- urban communities in the country witnessed radical improvements in socio developments initiatives.
The Former Head of state was full of praise for the one time national chairman of the NDC for the various roles he played to ensure the party got back to winning ways even before he lost the chairmanship bid to Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah àt the last National Delegates Congress held in 2022.
Other dignitaries who were at the event was His Excellency Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, the President of Proforum, members of the Forum including other scholar academicians who were invited to partake in the anniversary event under the auspices of the Organisers and leadership of the academic wing of the NDC.
The Former President, called on members of the NDC as well as the rank and file to support Mr. Ampofo ‘s late mothers funeral which is slated for March and April 2023 in the eastern region as the former National Chairman prepares to laid his mother to rest.
