All Parliamentary Aspirants seeking to contest the upcoming Parliamentary elections on the ticket of the NDC in any of the 33 constituencies in the Eastern Region to pay a developmental levy.
The Development levy shall be paid before vetting as the deposit slip will be verified during vetting.
Sitting MPs are to pay GHC 10,000, aspirant contesting at constituencies the NDC have seats in parliament are to pay GHC 20,000 and aspirants contesting at Orphan constituencies will have to pay GHC 5,000
Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s Morning show, The Eastern Regional Secretary of the NDC Baba Jamal Kone explained why the need of a development levy.
Baba Jamal Kone said any candidate who didn’t pay the development levy will not be disqualified but it shows that person is not ready help contribute to the welfare of the constituency.
