The National Organiser for the NDC has revealed on Ahotor Fm 92.3 that University fees have been quadrupled to more that 30% instead of the 15% expected charges by university authorities.

He said almost every facet of the country’s education has been destroyed.

Mr. Opare Addo’s observation in the educational sector according to him to moving to an abyss and serious remedial measures are needed to correct the ills in the sector.
He noted that students to teacher ratio is nothing to be happy of and also the entire structure in the education system has completely damage beyond repairs.
According Mr. Opare Addo, on Adekye Mu Nsem with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Wednesday Morning edition. He said government lack of consultation with stakeholders in the sector is barbaric and ought to be looked at immediately before issues get out hand.
The educational sector is encountering some challenges regarding Teacher absenteeism, low motivation for teachers , leading to incessant strikes action , corruption in schools placement system resulting in expose’ by some media houses and pending investigation amongst others.
It is expected that government will in the coming months rolled out some pragmatic policies to strengthen and correct the mishaps in the sector.
The education Minsiter Dr. Yaw Osei Adutuwum is also expected to meet some key partners in the sector to fine tune and trim the challenges confronting the sector.
Some parents are calling for a New educational reform and review on some old policies they deemed as defective and old fashioned.
Mr. Opare said the situation is dire and leadership is needed to resuscitate the weaknesses in the sector.
