We need more aggressive opposition in Parliament – Prof. Acheampong

Board of Director for Ahotor 92.3 Fm and a Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Prof. Emmanuel Acheampong the opposition NDC to be more aggressive on the government to serve as a check and balance for its reckless borrowings.


Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s morning show ‘Adi kyi Mu Nsem‘ with host Citizen Kofi Owusu, Prof. Acheampong said the more aggressive the NDC will be on government will reduce the profligate expenditure of the government.

“I think we need more aggressive opposition who will serve as a check and balance of the government so that the waste and the profligate expenditure which happened last year by government which brought hardships on Ghanaians will be reduced” he said.


Taking on the the NDC side in parliament, Prof. Emmanuel Acheampong said “The opposition in parliament has to walk the talk because most of the issues that happened last year, I must say that Ghanaians were very disappointed in them”.


Prof. Acheampong said the NDC telling Ghanaians that there is hardship in the country but money sharing characterizing their 10th National Delegates Congress is something to worry about.
He said Ghanaians won’t take the NDC serious if they will cry with them but will spray money at their programmes.


“When you go and talk to Ghanaians about the fact that the ruling government is wasting resources but you the opposition under you programme, all Ghanaians saw how cash was sprayed”
“During the last election of the NDC, people saw how cash was sprayed at the congress so you go to Ghanaians and tell them things are hard but we all saw how cash was sprayed there, so the talk in town is that, you that you are saying someone is wasting resources but look at what you are doing in opposition” he said.


Prof. Emmanuel Acheampong believes the opposition NDC should be very aggressive on the government to help reduce the current hardships in the country.
