Assin Fosu District Court convicts Pastor for stealing from girlfriend

A pastor of Divine Favour Ministry Church at Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, Kwaku Adinkrah, 43, has been convicted to a fine of ¢3,600 and in default will serve a 12 months’ imprisonment for stealing items worth ¢2,500.00 from his girlfriend at Assin Atonsu.

The girlfriend, Ms. Sophia Yeboah, a hairdresser and a complainant in the case is a resident of Atonsu in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.

The Assin Fosu District Court presided over by His Worship, Abdul Majid Iliasu, charged the convict with stealing, contrary to section 124 (1), of the criminal and other offenses Act 29 (60).

He pleaded guilty to the offense and was convicted accordingly.

Inspector Benjamin Doe-Kuwornu, the prosecutor, said on Tuesday, November 08, 2022, the complainant visited her parents in Kumasi and, while returning, met the convict in an Assin Fosu-bound vehicle which they exchanged contacts.

Reporting on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s 6pm evening news, Ahotor Kasiebo, Our Central Regional reporter Asonaba Kwame Oppong Nyarkoh reported that according to sources, they later developed feelings for each other so they started dating.

Kwaku Adinkrah someday told Sophia Yeboah there was a bad spirit in her shop so as a pastor he will be needing some items to cast that spirit out of the shop.

Sophia Yeboah believed so she stepped out oneday to get those items but Kwaku Adinkrah was having a spare key to the shop where he bolted with an IPhone, Rice along with money.

The case was reported to the Assin Fosu Police who was on a manhunt for Kwame Adinkrah until a friend of Sophia Yeboah came across him and informed the Police.

Kwame Adinkrah was later picked up but to his defence, he said the items he took from the shop was a payback to Sophia Yeboah who made him lick her for a good 30 minutes a day they were having sex.

He has been convicted to a fine of ¢3,600 and in default will serve a 12 months’ imprisonment.
