An aspiring Deputy National Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bright Nudokpo-Honu has said the youth booed the president at the Global Citizen Festival out of frustration and not that they were being disrespectful
According to him, the youth will always react once they are suffering and that is the true reflection of the country right now.
Speaking to Ahotor newsroom in response to comments made by the Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti region K.T Hammond, Mr Honu said, the NPP fraternity is known of such attitudes and it’s not surprising the MP made such comments about the youths
Again, he called on the youth to trust the NDC for better governance.
“The only hope left is to give power back to NDC and that is the only hope Ghanaians have as we speak’ he added.
A popular member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), KT Hammond, has descended on the young patrons of the 2022 Global Citizens Festival who booed president Nana Akufo-Addo. The NPP MP for Adansi Asokwa said the incident was uncalled for and was disrespectful of both Ghana and its political leadership.
Speaking in an interview on Joy News, the lawmaker said most Ghanaian youths don’t know anything about governance and are blockheaded.
“We don’t live in a country and do that. Let’s be humble. Whatever we do, the president is the executive head of this country. When he came, he didn’t say anything. It wasn’t even a political platform.
“He only said the event has brought the attention of the world on Ghana and the youth started booing at him. We will always tell the youth to be humble. When a matter comes up, we say we are going to consult elders. We don’t say we are coming to consult the youth whose heads are like coconut.
