The female national U20 the team of USA inflicted a 2-0 heavy defeat on Ghana in the match-day one fixture at the Estadio Alejandro Morera.
The Americans exercised their dominance over Ghana with some early incursions but the young goalkeeper of the Black Princesses, Grace Buoadi made a brilliant save to deny them from scoring but it was enough.
On the 11th minute, the pressure staged on the Ghanaians earned coach Tracey Kevins’ side the opener through a powerful header from Michelle Cooper after a cross was delivered by Ventnor Sentnor.
The Black Princesses looked frustrated in the game as they were reduced to ten women after Jacqueline Owusu was shown a red card for a horrible tackle at the half-hour mark.
Skipper Alyssa Thompson doubled the lead for the United States of America (USA) with a brilliant finish in the 38th minute of the game.
USA kept pushing for more goals before the whistle was blown was the break but none of their attempts earned them additional goals as the first half ended in a 2-0 loss for Ghana.

Substitute Ally Sentnor needed just six minutes to announce her presence in the game with the third goal for the USA after a defensive blunder from the Ghanaian defenders.
Coach Forkuo introduced more fresh legs like Louisa Aniwaa, Mafia Nyame and Rahama Jafaru to replace Cecilia Nyama, Suzzy Teye and Salamatu Abdulai respectively but their efforts were not enough to hand Ghana a consolation goal.
The last fifteen minutes of the clash was between goalkeeper Grace Buoadi and the attacker of USA individual brilliance aided the Americans to run riot at the Estadio Alejandro Morera.
