NPP MP for Asante Akyem Central Hon Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi has stated that, the NPP Caucus in parliament will pay a courtesy call on President Nana Addo over the state of development in the Ashanti Region.
The NPP lawmaker, said to Citizen Kofi Owusu on the Friday Edition of the Morning Show that, the Ashanti region has been loyal to the NPP for many years now, and is important they get their fair share of the National Cake.
Developmental issues in the region have become a subject of discussion in the second tenure of President Nana Addo’s administration in his 6th year in government.
The Majority leader and MP for Suame Constituency who doubled as leader of government business businesses met a stiff resistance by some irate And workers at Suame when he went to the Constituency to engage constituents on accounts of road projects in the area.
The embattled MP was hooted and pelted with pure water by Aggrieved residents for failing to provide developmental projects after the 2020 Polls.
Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu in a statement said he side with the residents over the concerns issued and will take steps to address them.
Failed Campaign Promises have become albatross and a nightmare for the Suame Lawmaker. Lack of roads , poor water supply as well as lack of jobs for the youths in the Constituency is on the lips of many. The situation almost cost the incumbent MP his seat during the 2018-19 Primaries in the NPP. But for the timely intervention of the current speaker of Parliament, Hon Algban Bagbin, Hon Mensah Bonsu would not have been in parliament to represent his constituents.
Hon Kwame Anyimadu reveal that, the MPs will go to the Presidency and have a fruitful discussion with the President on the high rate of underdevelopment in the Constituency and how best they can put matters in the right perspective, regarding the state of development in the region.
The MP who is the lead convener and laeder of delegation of the NPP MPs in the Ashanti region, said on Ahotor FM 92.3 , that, they have decided to assume this course for good reasons. And for them , President Nana Addo has done extremely well in the provision of Infrastructure and social amenities to the good people of the Ashanti Region.
He concluded that the MPs from the Ashanti are on standby, to let President Nana Addo know the real situation on the ground.
“We are likely to witness another apathy by the electorates in the party and that is what we are taking steps to prevent hence our meeting with the President to pour our grievances to him” He stressed!
