LEAD ANOTHER DEMONSTRATION AGAINST AKUFO-ADDO GOVERNMENT, JOHN DUMELO TELLS YVONNE NELSON.
Actor turned politician, John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson have been best friends both on and off the silver screen.
However, when it comes to politics, they often don’t come to an agreeable consensus.
During a political discussion, the actor slammed his colleague by saying her famous 2015 dumsor demonstration was not necessary.
John believes once the then president, John Dramani Mahama promised he could fix the problem which he eventually did, Yvonne shouldn’t have masterminded the demo which sort of became a revolution.
“I don’t think it was necessary. At that time the government said it will fix the problem and before Mahama left, he fixed it. I will not fault anyone, but you should have given Mahama the due credit for solving it” he added.
John Dumelo then challenged his bestie to stage another demo against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government premised on the prevailing hardship being experienced in the country, especially on the contentious Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).
“They have to do another demonstration for the E-levy. I paid 5,000 cedis and paid almost 70-something cedis. If I am to send that amount every day, imagine how much I will have to pay as E-levy”, he said.
“We can do the demo, but the people in power won’t listen, unlike john Mahama. We can walk to Agbloshie and will happen”, he stressed.
