The Executive Secretary of the Coalition against Leaders of TUC and Organized Labour, Azubilla Emmanuel Abdul Salam has called on President Akufo Addo to reduce government’s wasteful expenditure in other to save the economy.
His advice is in reaction to a call by President Akufo-Addo to public sector workers to be more sacrificial in their dealings when he addressed the Labor Conference in the Eastern Region yesterday.
Speaking at the maiden National Labour Conference held on Monday (28 February) in the Eastern Region, Akufo-Addo said his government is working around the clock to resolve the economic challenges which will in effect lead to better conditions of services.
The two-day conference is to reinforce a tripartite conversation on the dynamics and happenings on the labour front.
The conference, which is on the theme, “Strengthening Tripartism for Peaceful Labour Relations and Resilient Economy”, is expected to end with the adoption of a road map and a communique that will inform and shape the Government’s approach for the resolution of labour issues for the national development.
Mr Azubilla wants the Executives to also sacrifice as the public sector workers have done their part.
