A vocal youth Activist, Ivan Kyei Innocent has branded president Akufo-Addo as a walking disaster who cannot fight corruption. He made this known during an in – studio discussion on Ahotor92.3 fm’s evening political show dubbed Asem yi dika.
Corruption has been on the lips of many Ghanaians in recent times with many Ghanaians attributing the increase in corruption to the ctions of the president. A recent survey by the Center for Democratic Development Ghana, 62% of Ghanaians expressed lack of confidence in president Akufo-Addo to fight corruption. This has come at the back many cases of corruption greeting the president Akufo-Addo and his government.
Speaking to Nana Dogbe, host of the show, Ivan revealed that he has a lot of respect for president Akufo-Addo his show of perseverance throughout his political journey but as president, he described the President as a walking disaster who has shown in many instances that he’s not interested in the fight against corruption in Ghana, he also revealed that, the people around the president are not bold enough to let the president see the realities on the ground.
He again asserted that, politics thrives on perception and the only way to clear negative perception around corruption is to institute proper investigation into allege cases of corruption and mismanagement to purge the minds of the people.
Speaking on leadership, he again indicated that , as a leader your personality must reduce corruption by at least 50% because your appointees must be scared to mess up.
According to him, there a lot of things to be investigated in Ghana at the moment but the president has turned a blind eye and deaf ear to them. According to him, the president has no interest to fight corruption.
