Kotoko NCC reaches agreement with Maxwell Konadu

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu today held a meeting with the club’s supporters chiefs in Accra to trash out their differences after the termination of the coach’s contract in December last year.

The National Circles Committee invited Konadu who after leaving reported the club to the FA’s Players and Coaches Status Committee for alleged breach of contract and some Owings accrued amounting to$60,000 to withdraw the case and allow for an out-of-court settlement.

Asante Kotoko on the other hand wrote to Maxwell to pay them a total amount of $22,800 ($300 per day) since 19th December,2020 – 5th March, 2021 as cost incurred for what they term as “loss of use” for the continues use of the club’s vehicle although he has been relieved of his duty.

This became heated this week and the top executives took matters up and met with the coach to trash things out. These are the agreements reached today after the meeting :

1. Maxwell Konadu has handed over the official car given to him by Asante Kotoko

2. The NCC led by its Chairman Christopher Damanya and Nana Kwame Dankwa took possession of the car and has handed same to the CEO of the club.

3.Maxwell Konadu has instructed his lawyers to write to the Player Status Committee to withdraw the case he lodged against Kotoko.

4. NYA the CEO of Kotoko has agreed to pay Maxwell Konadu his outstanding entitlements as soon as possible.

5. The NCC has assured Maxwell Konadu that they will pay the difference between the amount he expects from the club and what he will actually be paid by Kotoko.

6. The NCC has promised the management that they will also be ready to pay the amount accrued as “loss of use” should management continue to pursue that case.

Asante Kotoko defeated local rivals King Faisal by a lone goal in the ongoing premier league today to move up on the league log.
