Ashanti Gold Assistant coach Thomas Duah says he is optimistic his side will beat Asante Kotoko coming Sunday at Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium.
According to him, Ashgold has prepared well ahead of the Ashanti derby and is anticipating a win in the derby. He claims that with his squad in full fitness, there is no way Kotoko will defeat them this weekend.
“Ashgold will beat Kotoko on Sunday.Apart from Appiah Mccarthy,all the players are fit for the game,and we will have a new Appiah Mccarthy on Sunday”he said.
“Playing against Asante Kotoko or Hearts of Oak is a big game,and during that game as a player you don’t wait for somebody to talk to you,you psyche yourself”.
On their chances in the ongoing Ghana Premier league, he said their target for this season is to win the 2020-21 league.
In an interview with Rockson Adjei Yeboah on Kumasi based Fox FM,he said their aim for the season is to win the league and represent Ghana in the CAF Champions league next season.
“Our target is to win this year’s league, and we have done it before”.
“It is surprising when a team like Techiman 11 wonders boast they can win the league,yet Ashgold cannot”.
“Yaw Annor is improving because there is huge competition in the squad”.
Ashgold host Asante Kotoko on Sunday in week 11 of the Ghana premier league.
