In a candid and exclusive interview, former Ghanaian international and experienced defender, Samuel Inkoom, has offered crucial insights into the state of preparedness of the Black Stars, Ghana’s national football team, as they gear up for upcoming tournaments. Inkoom emphasizes the urgent need for a collective transformation in the players’ mindset to enhance their chances of success on the global stage.
Inkoom conveyed his perspective on the matter, stating, “Everything is possible, only that we have to change our mindset. Because sometimes we think that okay, another AFCON is coming, there is another one coming, there is another one coming, you know. If we go today and it does not work, it will work next time. I think it is all about changing the mindset of the players.”
He further stressed the importance of a fresh outlook, saying, “Listen, we have to do something for Ghana, we have to do something for our motherland in terms of football, so what are we going to do? We have to go all out, we have to do everything that we can to win this trophy. We must also ensure they will write their names in gold. I want the players to start thinking about that before even the tournament starts.”
Inkoom’s thought-provoking remarks highlight the significance of mental preparedness and a winning mindset as crucial factors in the Black Stars’ journey towards achieving success in future tournaments.
