On the issue of the Akosombo Dam Spillage , Mr. Akpaloo opined that, oficials at the Volta River Authority are to blame for the catastrophe since the situation was avoidable.
About 26,000 people have been displaced following Akosombo Dam Spillage with about 102 plus communities affected. This according to experts excludes the quantity of properties destroyed.
Though there no recorded cases of severe fatalities since the Dam Spillage. Government and VRA have come under a barage of criticisms for the development which have sparked public outcry.
Government through National Disaster Management Organisation ( NADMO) has provided some relief items for people in the affected areas.
There are calls for Government to declare a state of emergency in the affected communities but the move have been unsuccessful.
Mr. Akpaloo did not mince words about the situation and describe the activities by VRA as highly inhumane and unpardonable.
