National Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gladys Nana Akua Avle has indicated that Cecilia Abena Dapaah has indicated to Ghanaians that, more of the governing NPP ministers might be hoarding such huge sums of money in their various homes.
According to her, “There is an asset declaration process in the constitution and before Madam Cecilia Dapaah took the ministerial job, did she tell Ghanaians what she is having in her room? If not then she has to explain how she got the money whether through her ministerial job or she does something extra”.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ahotoronline.com, she said the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources has exposed herself and other ministers of this government to risk.
“Now in this economy that the youth have no jobs, we are hungry, taxes have been increased, we are suffering, the youth are angry and everybody is upset now and there is money in somebody’s room, Bank of Ghana printing monies here and there whiles nothing is working” She opined.
She said the mismanagement and corruption in this administration is too much in this country and Ghanaians are tired and sick of it.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor has disclosed the amounts of money in the frozen bank accounts of former Sanitations Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
The OSP has revealed that it found $5 million, ¢48 million found in Cecilia Dapaah’s Prudential Bank accounts.
Also, it found ¢1 million cedis in investments and ¢700,000 in cash in her Société General account.
Details from Kissi Agyebeng’s Office have revealed that a cash amount of $590,000 was discovered during the search at her Abelemkpe home, at the same residence, the sum of ¢2,730,000 in cash was also found.
