Coaching Girls team is more difficult than Boys’ teams – Evans Adotey

Coach Augustine Evans Adotey, the head of the technical department of the Medeama football club, has revealed that coaching female teams is more tedious than coaching male teams.

In an interview on sempai fm, coach Adotey emphasized that both genders have different learning skills. The female team required teaching from basic levels.

“The boys are introduced to football at a very young age as compared to girls, a young boy would be able to kick a ball and make a few turns with the ball. The girls tend to be slow learners and easily get tired and should be introduced to the under-basics before they become perfect in the game.

”Some girls are also able to learn through collaborations and discussions, technically boys are more focused on the bigger picture than the girls.”

Adotey served as a coach for the Ghana women’s national under-17 football team, the Black Maidens from 2014 to 2019, in the process leading the team to three consecutive quarter-final places in three Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup campaigns.
