Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has donated a huge sum of money to his former coach Silas Tetteh who has been without any active coaching job for some time now.
The 66-year-old is a household name in the country and is regarded as one of the best coaches on the local scene, having handled almost all our men’s national teams including the Black Stars where he served as the assistant coach role.
Tetteh led the Black Satellites to double in 2009; the CAF Youth Championship in Rwanda and the U20 World Cup in Egypt, and that has been Africa’s first and only success at the competition till now.
The veteran gaffer is currently going through some financial difficulties and has been pushing the GFA and Sports Ministry for his unpaid bonuses to be settled.
However, Andre Ayew, who was the team’s captain then and currently plies his trade in England with Nottingham Forest, has donated an envelope of money to Sellas Tetteh at his residence with the amount undisclosed.
The donation was done on his behalf by his mother Mrs Maha Ayew and Spokesperson Fiifi Tackie.
Silas Tetteh’s last coaching role was with Liberty Professionals in 2021 where he served as their Technical Director.
