Two arrested in connection in Royal Motors robbery

The Eastern Regional Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers at a spot between Akim Asanteman and Akim Aprokumase near Akim Asuboa.

The two, Dormenyo Alfred alias Chilling and Felix Andy alias Ridder who were allegedly part of the Royal Motors robbery in Accra were pursued and arrested by the Oda District Police on Monday, March 12, 2018.

The suspects according to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Tetteh were on board a Toyota Highlander with registration number GR 8001-18, driving from Asamankese to Akim Oda.

“The suspects engaged Police in a shootout, during which one of them, Alfred Dormenyo was hit in the right thigh”, ASP Tetteh stated.

Domenyo has since been sent to the Oda Government Hospital where he is currently on admission receiving treatment, he stated.

ASP Tetteh said Felix Andy was in the custody of the Oda Police Station.

Their vehicle which has been impounded is also with the Oda Police.

The Oda Police he stated retrieved one flat screen TV and other personal effects from the suspects.

“It was later discovered that the suspects were wanted for their possible involvement in the Robbery situation at Royal Motors in Accra”; ASP Tetteh said adding that the Police in Accra had been informed to come for the suspects
