The GH¢150 million allocated to patch potholes is just a ‘thank-you’ money for the outgoing Roads Minister – Ben Doe

Former Tema West National Democratic Congress(NDC) Chairman and a member of the party’s National Communication Team Ben Doe says the GH¢150 million allotted for patching of potholes is a ‘Thank you’ money for the former Roads and Highways Minister and his team.

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has disclosed that the GH¢150 million allotted toward engaging and paying road contractors to patch potholes across the country is just one of many projects aimed at improving the country’s road network.

The ministry’s head of public relations, Nasir Ahmad Yartey, explained that “the whole idea is to move across the country to patch all the roads that have been destroyed by the rains.”

He stated that the amount represents the ministry’s first-quarter project and that there are other plans in the offing for the remaining three quarters.

Speaking in an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM, the former Tema West NDC Chairman Be Doe said the money is just a thank you money that has been given to the former Roads and Highways Minister and his team to share.

Reacting to President Akufo-Addo’s comments that he made the reshuffle not for himself but for Ghanaians, Mr. Doe said the president can’t be trusted because nothing shows that the reshuffle was made for Ghanaians.

Listen to him speak on the recent reshuffle by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
