“No internet can be a national security threat; it’s even more serious than a coup,” says Tain MP.

Ramsey Sulemana Adama, the Member of Parliament for the Tain Constituency, has voiced concern over the recent internet disruptions in the country, labeling them as a significant threat to national security. He believes that these interruptions pose a severe challenge to the government’s vision of digitalization.

During an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Hon. Adama expressed his worry, stating that such incidents highlight Ghana’s dependence on external data services, thereby questioning the country’s independence in this regard. He emphasized that these disruptions could potentially jeopardize national security and suggested that their impact might be even more detrimental than a coup d’état.
