Real Tamale United Edges Out League Leaders FC Samartex in a Narrow 1-0 Victory

Real Tamale United pulled off a crucial win against the top-of-the-table FC Samartex in Ghana Premier League’s Matchday 29 at the Naa Shariga Sports Complex to escape from the relegation zone.

The decisive moment came early in the second half when a well-placed cross from the right wing found the head of Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli in the 46th minutes , who expertly guided the ball into the back of the net. The goal sent the home crowd into a frenzy, setting the tone for a highly competitive match.

FC Samartex, known for their attacking prowess and consistent performances throughout the season, responded with a series of attacks, but RTU’s defense held firm. The visiting team’s best opportunity came in the 75th minute when their forward broke through the defense, only to be denied by an excellent save from RTU’s goalkeeper Abdul Rauf Mohammed.

This result serves as a boost for RTU’s ambitions of escaping the relegation zone as they lie at the bottom of the league table with 28 points after 28 games played.

On the other hand, FC Samartex will need to regroup and refocus as they aim to maintain their lead at the top of the table. Despite the loss, they remain strong contenders for the league title occupying the top spot with 52 points .
