NDC’s chances of winning the Ejisu seat are slim, making their choice not to contest the right one – Political Analyst

Political analyst David Dunu has clarified that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) made the correct decision by opting out of the Ejisu by-election. Dunu explained that the NDC’s chances of winning the Ejisu seat are slim, making their choice not to contest the right one.

The NDC officially announced its decision not to participate in the Ejisu by-election, slated for April 30, following the demise of the constituency’s Member of Parliament, John Ampontuah Kumah. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC’s General Secretary, stated that the party’s focus is now directed towards preparing for the main parliamentary elections in December.

Kwabena Boateng, the second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency, was elected as the NPP’s candidate for the by-election by delegates on Saturday, April 13.

During a media interaction, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey reiterated the NDC’s decision to abstain from the by-election, underscoring their dedication to the groundwork for the December polls.

In an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Mr. Dunu expressed that the NDC can better allocate resources and energy towards the 2024 general elections rather than investing in Ejisu, where victory seems improbable.

Alan Kyerematen has garnered the endorsement of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) as the presidential candidate for the forthcoming December elections. The ARC, inaugurated in Accra on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, aims to unify various existing political entities, movements, and individuals to participate in the 2024 general elections. The ARC is confident in its ability to break the NPP and NDC dominance in Ghanaian politics and win the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Dunu believes that with a compelling message and strategy, the ARC has the potential to force the 2024 general elections into a runoff.
