NDC Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo storms Volta and pay his last respect to late NDC founding father John

National Chairman of the NDC, Hon Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo and General Secretary Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah both on Saturday November 24, 2018 attended the final funeral rites of a founding father and a member of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Kwaku Nunyuie in the Volta Regional Capital of Ho.

The newly elected National Chairman for the party and his entourage; which includes the general secretary Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah , affectionately called “General Mosquito as well as some functional executives in the party attended the climax of the final funeral rites ceremony of the late John Kwaku Nunyuie in the Volta region respectively. The Volta Regional Executives of the NDC as well as the minority in Parliament, past government appointees in the region including chiefs and people, opinion leaders and well wishers from far and near graced the funeral ceremony on Saturday morning at Ho, the Regional Capital.

The National Chairman of the NDC Mr. Ofosu Ampofo eulogized the memory of the late elder, and stalwart in the NDC , and stated that his demise is a big blow to the party since the NDC has benefited immensely from the experiences of the late John Kwaku Mr. Nunyuie.

The NDC National Chairman ; Hon Samuel Ofosu Ampofo received a rousing welcome at Ho by some sympathizers in the NDC. His visit to the region is the first in the region, days after he was elected National Chairman for the party, and after being sworn into office by the highest decision making body of the party on Thursday, to commenced his functions and legitimate party duties.

The late Michael Kwaku Nunyuie was a philanthropist, and highly influential figure whose contributions and availing himself to help the course of the party in the region is unparalleled, and cannot be under estimated.

Meanwhile, some Chief Mourners who reminisced and underscored some of the fond memories they shared with the late NDC stalwart said news about his death still lingers in their mind, and it will be very difficult for any body to fill such a vacuum left behind by the man considered as the power house of the NDC in the Volta region, whose enigmatic and charisma wooed millions of undecided voters for the party under his kind patronage as the Regional Chairman for the party.

Until his call to eternity, the late Nunyuie served in several portfolios in the NDC. The final funeral ceremony for the late John Kwaku Nunyuie came off at the “St Cecelia Parish” Church in Hon with several echelons and bigwigs present. Many of the sympathizers some of whom party colleagues used the solemn gathering to espouse the enviable virtues of the late academician amidst immortalizing his memories.

He was the NDC’s first regional vice chairman who subsequently aided in the reorganization of the structures in the party and making the NDC a force to reckon in the volta region, and a key architect in solidifying the grassroots during the 1996-2000s when he was the party’s substantive regional chairman, after serving in similar auxiliary capacity as the region’s first vice regional chairman.

Mr. John. Kwaku Nunyuie was a resident and a native in Hon where he spent most of his political life engagements and undertook many party activities, in his quest to make the NDC vibrant , visible and viable. Nonetheless, a section of the Political class have since immortalized his memory by alluding to the fact that the late John Kwaku Nunyuie was a man of few words and Straus, whose meritorious footprints are evident for all to bare witness even after his demised.

The NDC through a glowing tribute resolved that the late fellow Akatamansonian ; Mr. Nunyuie’s perpetual benchmark is in many parts and would forever remain a monumental peak for any emerging brand of political icons of the NDC in the region to beat.

Dignitaries most of whom Mourners including chiefs, and other high profile personalities of the NDC in the region have describe the the late John Kwaku Nunyuie as an apostle of discipline and further reiterated that he will forever be missed since many regard him as the belly – button and a staunch believer of Democratic tenets in the party who dedicated most of his entire working life in the pursuits of servitude to the party.

The late Nunyuie, is credited for making the NDC attractive in the region during his reigned as the Regional Chairman, and who the NDC calls on in terms of high powered deliberations by key party people in the Volta region.

He died at age 78 years, after battling a short illness whiles on admission, and left behind a family.
