(Listen): We reject your proposals to close polls at 3 pm – NDC tells EC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rejected proposals from the Electoral Commission (EC) to close polls at 3 pm and also stopped the use of indelible ink in the upcoming general elections.

According to the NDC, there are several outstanding issues to be addressed in this election year in which the use of indelible ink and poll closure is involved.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra at the headquarters of the party, the National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah popularly known as General Mosquito said, the Electoral Commission is seriously opposing bringing the closure of the polls to 3 pm and yet, they are not working on the delivery of electoral materials promptly for elections to start at 7 am.

Chairman General insisted that the NDC is opposed to the electoral commission’s decision not to use indelible ink during the election of 2024.

He indicated that the discontinuation of using indelible ink in Ghana’s election at this stage will give room for more illegal ways.
“Have we as Ghanaians said that we will not pay for the indelible ink”, he asked.
