Tema, Accra, November 8th, 2025: The Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has taken a swipe at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over what he describes as its slow and unresponsive handling of investigations into corruption allegations against former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
Mr. Koomson accused the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, of “playing with the minds of Ghanaians” by failing to take decisive action in high-profile cases.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s “Yepe Ahunu” show on Saturday, November 8, the GFL boss expressed disappointment over what he called the OSP’s “lackadaisical attitude” towards major corruption cases.
“I am not happy because the OSP has been too slow in its investigations. We have seen delays with the SML matter, the National Cathedral case, and other investigations that have been hanging for years. Kissi Agyebeng is just playing with the minds of Ghanaians,” he stated.
Mr. Koomson argued that Ken Ofori-Atta should be prosecuted in absentia if he is unwilling to face the law, adding that political interference should not be an excuse for the OSP’s inaction.
“Interference from political parties has always been a challenge, but that cannot justify the OSP’s silence and delay on such a serious case,” he said.
The labour leader also questioned Kissi Agyebeng’s leadership and management abilities, saying his failure to act decisively undermines Ghana’s anti-corruption drive and weakens public confidence in the OSP.
Mr. Koomson further called on President John Dramani Mahama to consider a reshuffle of the Special Prosecutor’s office, insisting that only a bold and proactive leadership can ensure accountability and bring those who mismanaged or stole public funds to justice.
