John Mahama challenges NPP over claims of superior economic management

Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)  John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) claims over the superiority of the better managers of the country’s economy.

According to the former president, they left office with inflation of 15% but under this government inflation rose to 50% and it has dropped to 30% which is very appalling.

Addressing some Ghanaians on his building Ghana tour in Tamale, Mr Mahama said cocoa production was 960,000 metric tonnes and they went for syndication loan of $1.8b today, cocoa production is under 500,000 metric tonnes which they got only $800m at 8% whiles Mahama administration got $1.8b at 2% so how can you say this government is better than what we have under my government, “he asserted

Reacting to the ‘DUMSOR’saga in the country, Mr Mahama reiterated that they NDC government under him solved the intermittent power outages before leaving office with just one oil field.
