John Dumelo Sends First Batch of Students to Russia on Fully Funded Scholarships

Ghanaian actor, politician and Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture John Dumelo has announced that the first batch of students under his scholarship scheme has departed Ghana for Russia to pursue further studies on fully funded scholarships.

In a post shared on his social media platforms, Dumelo disclosed that the students had begun their journey to Russia as beneficiaries of the John Dumelo Scholarship Scheme, an initiative aimed at providing educational opportunities for Ghanaian students.

According to him, more than 40 students are expected to benefit from the scholarship programme before the end of 2027.

The development marks a significant step in the implementation of the initiative, which seeks to support students in pursuing higher education abroad without the financial burden associated with their studies.

The fully funded scholarships are expected to provide beneficiaries with an opportunity to advance their education, acquire new skills and gain experiences that could contribute to their future careers.

Dumelo, who rose to prominence as an actor before venturing into politics, has continued to maintain a public presence through his work in entertainment, public service and community development.

His latest announcement has drawn attention to the role of scholarship programmes in helping young people access educational opportunities beyond Ghana.

With the first batch now on its way to Russia, attention will be on the next group of beneficiaries as the initiative works towards its target of supporting more than 40 students before the end of next year.

The programme also highlights how public figures can use their platforms and initiatives to support education and contribute to the development of young people.
