” Go and Change the Name of Osu Castle” – Akamba to Akufo Addo.

The Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) has taken the NPP government to the cleanest over the remaining of the Flagstaff House to Jubilee House.

Mr Akamba told the media in Accra whilst submitting his thoughts on the  communique which was sanctioned by the Director of Communication at the Presidency, Mr. Eugene Arhin on Thursday.

Mr Arhin through a radio interface reiterated that the President is backed by the provisions enshrined in the constitution to carryout such correspondence as and when it’s deemed prudent in the interest of the nation.

A move according to the Deputy National Organizer of the NDC Joshua Akamba has opposed that, the Akufo led government lacks the moral justification to persue such activity under the current dispensation.

He chides and queried why the government hasn’t gone ahead to renamed other notable  landmarks/ grand edifices in the country.

However Mr. Akamba’s position corroborated an earlier tweet by the NDC, that the party will revert  to “Flagstaff House” signage when they(NDC) win power in 2020

The Deputy NDC scribe told Class Fm’s news Prime  bulletin at twilight (5: 05)that, the re-designation of the official seat of government is meant for the President to save his own dented image.

The vociferous Deputy Organizer also rubbised assertions by officialdom at the communications bureau in the presidency which suggested  that the signage  had since gained  executive order and Gazetted in accordance to due process as stipulates in the 1992 constitution.

Mr Amidu Akamba revealed that the NDC is yet to officially issued a statement to that effect and however denied any knowledge of a press release coming from the ambience of the Party.

And resented  to adduced evidence to authenticate such purported statement signed by the General Secretary of the Party , Johnson Asiedu Nketiah into the public domain on Thursday.

He posited further and stressed that “the President wanted a new clean sheet and hence it was imperative for the name to be changed”

He reckoned, it has become synonymous that the name Flagstaff House comes with all the unnecessary  bad accolades which epitomized governance bankruptcy which is spearheaded by the Akufo Addo administration.

Mr Amidu Akamba, unambiguously  implored anybody who doubt his exposition on the matter should enter into the set engine of Google to be familiarized with the true situations on the ground.

In responding to a follow up  questions by the host Benjamin Akakpo, Joshua Akamba couldn’t  tell if the future NDC administration  would renamed the presidential seat of government but was quick to teased the Nana Addo’s regime for embarking upon such a needless and wasteful venture.

He expressed dissatisfaction and remarked that the gesture is a monumental deficiency by the government and an act of public deceit.

He premised and argued pointedly that the government should go and toppled the name of the Osu Cattle ( ChristianBough castle) to compliment their vicious machinations.

He fumed the name Flagstaff House has become the den of all corrupt activities ever since the New Patriotic Party( NPP) assumed the reigns of governance in the country.

Mr Akamba again, put up a spirited defense and charged the government to put their priorities right and be forthright in its dealings on issues of National in Character.

Similarly, the general public have expressed diverse opinions about the development and concluded that government after government have subjected the nation into playing a political chess.

A backward trend they advised ought to be changed and stemmed.

It’s however nuclear if there would be an official ceremony to commemorates  the event at the presidency by the government.

Meanwhile , some policy makers and governance  Think Tanks have called to an end of what they termed as unproductive renaming cycle at the presidency by successive governments’ in Ghana under the 4th republic.
