Ghana’s international image unaffected by anti-gay bill – Ampratwum-Sarpong

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, has stated that Ghana’s international reputation remains unaffected despite the passing of the Anti-Gay Bill. Although Parliament approved the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill in February, it still awaits presidential approval.

In an interview with Ahotor News, Mr. Ampratwum-Sarpong highlighted that the global community respects Ghana’s sovereignty in decision-making processes.

“To be frank, while there are discussions in Ghana, internationally it is not a significant issue. For Europeans, the European Union, and the Americas, inquiries about Ghana’s stance on LGBTQ matters arise in meetings with Ghanaian representatives such as those from the Foreign Service, ministers, possibly the president, or deputies like us,” he explained.
