Forcing Asare Bediako, others to step down is an evident to Nana Addo’s autocracy- Alhaji Saani snr

Former Ashanti regional Vice Chairman of the NDC and former board member of PMMC (Precious Mineral Marketing Company), currently aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Mohammed Saani Snr has stated emphatically that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo’s repeated behavior which usually prevent others from contesting any position in the NPP party is a clear evidence of his unconstitutional and autocratic behavior.

According to Alhaji Saani, Mr. Asare Bediako who just stepped down in the recent Ashanti regional Chairmanship contest did not do so by a will but under a pressure from Nana Addo and some party (NPP) gurus.

“It saddens me whenever I hear people referring to Nana Addo as a true democratic whilst he’s an autocrat”, he said.

He mentioned that Chairman Wontumi would have lost if Asare Bediako had been given the chance to contest, and the clear indication is from the fact that, only two members from Wontumi’s factions won their positions with the majority of the winners from Asare Bediako’s camp.

The aspiring Chairman continued with his fire by stating that one Mr. Stephen Ntim who is vying for the national Chairmanship position has also been compelled this same way by Nana Addo to step down.

He said, Nana Addo is doing this to give way for the northerner, Alhaji Shot to win and that’s just to flash people so that when his (Nana Addo’s) intention to drive Bawumia away from the NPP party comes into reality, people won’t complain that Nana Addo and the NPP have sidelined Northerners.

He cited his other example from the Ashanti regional current election where he said no Northerner could win any position he or she contested for, and this should tell Ghanaians how the NPP is not a broad based party as they used to boast.
