Dr. Bawumia lack’s ideas —-Wisdom Woyome

The Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia maiden public political speech does not go on well, while he is trying to decouple himself from the abysmal performance of the government is very unfortunate.

The statement by the Vice President does not carry any element of impact analysis to know the reality of the severe economic situation in the country. He positions himself as if he is holding to a straw without any support and facts to the truth and the situation going on the country.

The member of Parliament for South Tongu Hon. Kwasi Wisdom Woyome said this on Simpieso political talk show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Emmanuel Amartey (Alaska De Don) in Accra.

He is of the view that, we have come of age as a nation to employ a strategy to tap into all expertise in the country to work as patriotic citizens in the development of the country. It seems the government is lack of ideas and the government must look at the temperature of the country by involving a system of all-inclusiveness in the development of the country. This he said Ghanaians are really suffering.

Going forward, the Hon. Kwasi Wisdom Woyome said the components of taxes is killing businesses and has brought a huge burden on the individuals and making lives very difficult for the citizenry.

In another development, the Vice President’s promise to scrap some taxes when elected as President of Ghana in the upcoming general election.

In another development Dr. Bawumia in his address to ministers, leadership of the NPP and party supporters at UPSA in Accra, also mentioned specifically that the controversial Electronic Transaction Levy also known as E-levy will be abolished in his next government.

Commenting on the presentation delivered by the Vice President, and immediate action on some of the promises in the parts seven years.

“Parts of the presentation was an indictment on the government of which he is part, in a manner that raises serious questions and vindicates those of us who have been critics of the government.

“Promising to have not more than 50 Ministers when you are part of a government of over 100 Ministers; and promising to abolish some taxes like the Emissions tax, Gaming Tax, E-Levy, VAT on electricity consumption etc makes some of us feel vindicated for criticizing and calling for downsizing of government and the abolition of such nuisance taxes,”

He opined that yesterday was a special day in the political calendar of Ghana, since from the 2016 till today the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has use deception and lairs to deceived Ghanaians as the best brains and team to developed Ghana. While looking at score cards from the event we saw yesterday, it looks the government has nothing to show for; rather has fall flat with shame and disgrace.

He reiterated that, Ghanaians are now awake and can read through the lines of deception and lairs the NPP has used as a political tool to deceived Ghanaians for the past eight years.

He further stated that, its time Ghanaians must speak to truth for power at this critical time where the country is bankrupt of ideas, leadership shortfall and corruption. This he said has affected all the sectors of the economy.
