Chris Hughton dropped PAOK left-back from the Black Stars squad

In-form PAOK left-back Baba Rahman has been left out of the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros by Ghana coach Chris Hughton.

The former Chelsea left-back has been overlooked despite his impressive performances at the club level in Greek top flight league as well as the  European Conference League.

Baba Rahman lasted 85 minutes for POAK in their 2-2 draw with Aberdeen on Thursday night in the Europa Conference League.

The absence of the 29year old means either Gideon Mensah or Fatawu Hamidu of Medeama Sporting Club will get the nod to start in Ghana’s first qualifying game against Madagascar.

The last time Baba Rahman played for the Black Stars was in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where the Black Stars won 2-1 to qualify for the African Cup of nations in Ivory coast next year.

The Black Stars will host Madagascar on November 17 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi before traveling to Moroni to face Comoros on November 21.
