“Bawumia’s Lack of Presidential Experience is Unfounded Criticism, Asserts Nana Akomea”

Nana Akomea, the Chief Executive of the State Transport Corporation (STC), has weighed in on Vice President and NPP flag bearer Dr. Bawumia’s recent remarks regarding the elimination of the e-levy and betting tax, stating that he perceives no fault in the Vice President’s stance. According to Akomea, these taxes have adversely affected business operations within the country.

During a media interview, Akomea expressed his belief that Dr. Bawumia’s opposition to these taxes reflects his incapacity to effectively govern if elected into office. He refuted the notion circulating among some Ghanaians that the Vice President displayed indifference towards these taxes when they were introduced by his own government, only to later advocate for their repeal once seeking the presidency.

Akomea’s comments underscore the ongoing debate surrounding fiscal policies and governance strategies, particularly concerning taxation and economic management.
