The Management and Staffs of AHOTOR FM 92.3 have donated assorted Relief items received on behalf of MP for Ada Constituency, Hon Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah to Affected Victims of Akosombo Dam Spillage on Saturday November 11th, 2023 respectively.
Hon Doyoe Ghansah whiles receiving the gesture express appreciation and delight to Ahotor FM for empathising with her constituents in a moment of lost hope and despair and pledge disbursement of the donations to victims in and around island communities within the constituency where approximately about 6,000 people have been hit by the spillage and over 300 houses raised down and completely submerged by devastation of spillage waters.
The MP who doubles as the deputy minority chief whip in Parliament, emphasised the timely arrival of the donations and said arrangements are underway by her outfit to equitably distribute to homeless individuals who have suffered consequences as a result of the spontaneous flushed waters from the Akosombo Dam by the Volta River Authority (VRA) months ago.
The Entourage from Ahotor FM was led by Mr. Ahuma Ocansey Bosco (General Manager) and representatives of heads of department as well as staffs of the station.
The gesture is in line with the company’s humanitarian and social corporate responsibility aim to offer support to its audiences and the general public in times of disasters and unforeseen situations.
The donation drive campaign forms part of numerous proactive initiatives being spearheaded by the station in a deliberate phase – to- phase approach to cover island areas and communities which have been worse hit in the Volta region by the tide, resulting from the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
