(Audio) Who would have run the flagbearer ship elections if director of elections were not chosen – FMR ADENTA MP ASK ASIEDU NKETIAH

Former Member of Parliament for Adenta constituency in the Greater Accra region, Hon kojo Adu Asare is asking the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah that, who would have been in charge of the 2019 flagbearer ship race of the party should the chairman failed to appoint a director of elections.

His comment comes after a leaked tape of the General Secretary popped up accusing the incumbent national chairman for disobeying former president John Mahama in the appointment of director of elections before the 2019 flagbearer ship race of the party

According to him, is the elections director who runs elections in the party per the constitution of the NDC hence without elections director there would not be directorate for the party’s internal election
Speaking on simpieso with Emmanuel Martey a.k.a. Alaska de don, he said the national chairman becomes the leader when the party is in opposition hence all powers hail on him to do the needful.

Again, he called on Hon Julius Debrah to also come out and vindicate himself if is not true because his name has been mentioned and in the alleged tape and they do not want to believe that he is part of those who want to take Ofosu-Ampofo out of the party.

The Chairman of the NDC’s National Delegates Congress Planning Committee, Alex Segbefia, who announced this at a press briefing in Accra entreated delegates to rally behind the party for a successful National Congress as a prerequisite to taking over power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2025 after victory in the 2024 general election.
He explained that owing to the current economic challenges facing the country, the only hope for Ghanaians was the NDC, saying it was necessary for the rank and file to unite to ensure victory for the party in the elections.

The NDC will be having their national delegate conference on saturday December 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium to elect their national executives who will steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
