Akufo-Addo Assumes Full Responsibility for Ghana’s Economic Challenges

President Akufo-Addo restated his role as the one responsible for governing the country. Speaking to the 8th Parliament on February 27, he said, “We stumbled, but we’re rising again. We were bruised, but we’re healing. We’ve dusted ourselves off, and now we face tomorrow with confidence.”

He prayed that misfortune would spare families, communities, and the nation. But if challenges arise, they must confront them bravely, reflecting the Ghanaian spirit of resilience.

President Akufo-Addo clarified that under the Constitution, executive power belongs to the President. He emphasized that the President holds the ultimate responsibility for government decisions.

While acknowledging the importance of advice from officials and ministers, President Akufo-Addo noted that the President makes executive decisions, with the cabinet and ministers serving as advisors.

He mentioned that government members might turn ideas into success, but the President bears ultimate responsibility for the outcomes, whether credit or blame.
