Primary Health Care has been part of our system and not a groundbreaking discovery. It has been the anchor of our health system for years, delivered through CHPS compounds, polyclinics, and health centers, and paid for by the National Health Insurance System.
Primary health care has been part of our system since the introduction of NHIS , CHPS in 2003/04 . The only change was the payment method in 2012 when the NDC wanted to introduce capitation to it by piloting it in Ashanti Region which didn’t succeed.
What exactly is the announcement for? A policy shift, or a cosmetic rebrand of what already exists and is functioning?
Healthcare delivery is not a branding and PR exercise. It is not about catchy phrases or repackaged announcements. It is about improving efficiency and systems that function, deliver, and connect measurable outcomes for the people.
Yet suddenly, Primary Health Care is being dressed up as a “new initiative” as if renaming an old structure somehow transforms its effectiveness. Mr President, why?
That is not innovation. That is optics, Mr President.
You cannot change an existing system, relabel, and expect thanks for progress. We are not asking for polished narratives, Mr President. We are only demanding tangible results, accessible services, better infrastructure, adequate staffing, and real accountability.
The issue has never been the absence of policy frameworks. The government will be useful if it focuses on building efficiency and not branding.
Rebranding is easy. Delivering results is not. What the country needs is delivery not deception.
Because we laughed at a social democrate party without one social intervention they are forcing their way out
This is called political theft
