Tragic Fire Destroys Properties at Obuasi Pomposo Primary School

A sorrowful tragedy has struck the Obuasi Pomposo Roman Catholic Primary B School in the Obuasi East district of Ashanti Region, as a devastating fire engulfed the school, reducing countless properties to ashes.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, has left the school community heartbroken, with losses running into thousands of cedis.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the damage is painfully clear. Headmistress Regina Okancy, her voice filled with sorrow, recounted the moment she received the dreadful call from the JHS headmaster. Upon arriving at the scene, the sight was unbearable—fridges, textbooks from the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, computers, laptops, printers, and TV sets, all destroyed.

In the wake of this tragic loss, Madam Okancy made a heartfelt plea to the government, NGOs, and charitable organizations to come to their aid. The school now faces an overwhelming need for teaching and learning materials, as the once lively classrooms stand in silence, awaiting a helping hand to restore hope.
