Members of Parliament (MPs) have been eulogizing the late Hon Enoch Teye Mensah popularly known in Ghana as E.T. Mensah who was the former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency in the Greater Accra region.
He died in South Africa on October 1, 2023, when he visited the place for ill-treatment.
Speaking on the floor of parliament, the Member representing Tamale South constituency, Hon Haruna Iddrisu described the late ET Mensah as a loyal servant and a true stateman.
Also, the member representing the people of Dome-Kwabenya, Lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo describes the late colleague as a test kit for the younger generations. According to her, some of the current MPs were young when they heard his name but his legacy continues to speak better for him.
Some other MPs also shared how he motivated them and welcomed them in parliament upon their first appearance to the house.
They called on God to give him eternal rest until we meet again as a minute of silence was observed for him.
Enoch Teye Mensah was a Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampam from 7 January 1997 to 7 January 2017.
The prominent politician was a former minority leader and has held several ministerial offices, he remains the longest-serving mayor of Accra. He was succeeded by Samuel Nartey George.
Until he vacated his physical body from this earth, he was a council of state member representing the Greater Accra his home region.
