The NPP should rather focus on finishing the 8 than breaking the 8 – Former Madina MP

Ghanaians are calling on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to concentrate on completing all the campaign promises espoused in their manifesto before crying for breaking the eight. Further, the NPP slogan should rather complete the eight and not break the eight.

The economic hardship Ghanaians are going through under the leadership of President Nana Addo is very unfortunate and difficult coupled with the high cost of living in the country. The former Member of Parliament for Madina Amadu Sorogho said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem’s morning show on Ahotor FM 92.3 in Accra.

Counting on the success story of the National Democratic Congress, he said in their reign in power former president John Dramani Mahama was able to retool the Ghana National Fire Service with 239 fire thunders.

This he said has gone a long way to help the Fire Service to execute their duties in fighting fires in the country.

He opined that it’s very unfortunate the NPP government came into power with deception and lairs campaign to Ghanaians with a lot of promises, which in scoring them on their work for the past seven years has nothing to show, rather hardship and corruption.

Hon. Sorogho reiterated that, rating the presidential contest for the NDC flag bearer as against the established candidate of the NPP yet to be elected, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, according to Info Analytics, if the election should be held today, John Dramani Mahama will win the elections with 20% margin. He said out of the 16 regions the former president would win the 15 regions.

He is of the view that the realities facing the country with the NPP government are bad leadership, corruption, deception, and failed promises, which have to do with roads, health infrastructure, and the entire economy.

This he said coupled with the indebtedness of the government’s economic policies has caused the government to abandon a lot of projects throughout the country.

The former Madina Member of Parliament Amadu Sorogho, reiterated that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the Vice President of the New Patriotic Party should be very careful in imploring religion as a tool in his campaign in the NPP internal flag bearer race since politics and region can degenerate into chaotic situation and conflict, this can affect our coexistence as Muslim and Christians in the country.
