Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu North constituency of Volta region, Eric Edem Agbana has indicated that the building of the national cathedral by the NPP government was an avenue to steal from the country and never for God.
According to him, he is a Christian and always contributes to the building of churches. He would not mind donating to the cathedral but what President Akufo-Addo attempted to do was never for the cause of God.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ahotoronline.com, the former Deputy Youth Organizer of NDC said, this government told us the project was a personal pledge by President Nana Addo to God and they are not going to use state funding for the project.
“Leading pastors in this country told us that it will come from contributions from Christians and people who are willing to help” Was that not what they told us? he asked.
“Then we saw the huge allocation from state coffers that they made to that project. Now almost every member of the board has resigned including the attorney general and many other pasters because thieves are supervising that project” he added.
According to him, “We have to be serious as a country because we have a petty President who for the lack of vision and foresight decided to abandon the Seglemi housing project for the national cathedral.
