Ghanaian renowned poet and literary coach, Philip Boakye Dua Onyinka commonly known as Nana Asaase has revealed that he is proud of his roots as a Ghanaian, and does the reason why he is always promoting Ghana.
Nana Asaase is known for his brilliant fun and unrestricted command over language and he dazzled patrons with thought-provoking poems
He said; I have always promoted Ghana wherever I go, for years now, wearing Ghanaian fugu, African print, and ahenema’ (Sandals) everywhere I go for years as a poet.’’
According to him; ‘’going beyond Ghana is the thing. We need to go back and embrace who we are as Ghanaians and what defines us as people.’’
Speaking with Obaapa Janee, on Ahotor mmre today, 30th June 2023 made it clear that it is his wish that Ghanaians will help him to promote Ghana around the World.
Nana Asaase doing this for years has given him the opportunity to travel and meet so many dignitaries but the graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon said there is more for him to do.
Nana Asaase in 0ctober,27th to 29th, 2022 performed at Lagos International Poetry Festival held in Nigeria under “Babel… a new language”.
A festival that featured other poets such as Jolyn Philips (South Africa), Aremo Gemini (Nigeria), Loveth Liberty (Nigeria), Renaud Dossavi (Togo) Mbali Malimela (South Africa), Dike Chukwumerije (Nigeria), Emma Ofosuah, and many others across the world.
