We can still win to progress to the next stage – Coach Ibrahim Tanko
The head coach of Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko is optimistic of winning the last game to qualify to the next stage of the tournament.
Speaking ahead of their crucial encounter with Guinea on Friday, coach Tanko emphasized that they need to uplift their game to beat Guinea to qualify to keep their dreams alive.
“I think both teams want to qualify for the next stage, and both teams are going to prepare very well so I think as for my team we want to win to qualify for the next stage of the competition.”
The Black Meteors suffered a heavy defeat to the host nation and surrendered their lead in Group A following Guinea’s victory over Congo earlier in the day.
The results now mean Ghana drops to third in the standings and needs nothing but a win against Guinea if they are to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
