The Executive Secretary for the Ghana Federation of Labour ( GFL) Abraham Koomson has taking a swipe at some members of parliament over non performance of both parliamentary and constituency duties.
The labour unuonist on Thursday Morning on Ahotor fm (92.3) reacted to government descion to pass three major bills laid before the august house which the trading community describe as a scar on ease of doing business in the country.
The three bills includes; The income Tax Amendment Bill 2022, Exercise Duty Amendment Bill and Growth and Sustainability Bill which the House is set to debate on between the minority and majority MPs respectively.
On March 8th during the State of the Nation Address by President Akufo Addo, he pleaded with the opposition NDC MPs to concur with the NPP lawmakers to pass the bill on Thursday 23rd March, 2023.
Government through the finance Minister has revealed that the state seek to benefit is excess of about 4 billion ghana cedis annually if the Bill is given the green light. But the move has atrracted divided views due to what the NDC MPs say will further worsen the economic plight of the ordinary Ghanaian who finds it difficult to make earns meet.
The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) , the Ghana Federation of labour as well as Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana. Have all written or met with tge the parliamentary leadership on their concern.

The minority members of parliament have stated that, it would be suicidal to allow the bill to go through passage due to incessant complaints and feedbacks from investors and business owners some of whom have folded up their businesses.
Mr. Abraham Koomson did not mince words when he took a swipe at some of the MPs on both size of the House and referred to them as highly careless individuals who only think of themselves at the expense of the people who gave them the mandate to represent them.
” some of the MPs don’t think , they don’t care about their constituents ” Mr. Koomson fumed!
The debate for the three additional taxes on the floor of is expected generate a very heated disagreement between the NPP Majority and the NDC group in Parliament.
